MO2 - Punch Press Operator (PEGA) 2 pm-10:30 pm

tk accelis Materials Plus is seeking a Machine Operator II (Vaski Punch Press) - 2nd Shift (2:00 PM - 10:30 PM) to join our Santa Teresa team on second shift. In this role, you will safely set up, operate, and maintain Vaski punch press equipment while ensuring quality, productivity, and on-time delivery of customer orders. This position is ideal for individuals who thrive in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and are committed to safety, accuracy, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Set up, operate, and monitor Vaski punch press equipment safely and efficiently.
• Review work orders and setup instructions to verify material and processing requirements.
• Perform quality inspections using measuring tools and document results.
• Verify product dimensions and specifications meet customer requirements.
• Load, unload, move, and stage materials throughout the production process.
• Operate forklifts, overhead cranes, and other material handling equipment as needed.
• Complete production reports, inventory transactions, and productivity logs accurately.
• Troubleshoot minor equipment issues and communicate maintenance needs promptly.
• Perform routine preventive maintenance and maintain a clean, safe work area.
• Identify, segregate, and report non-conforming material and scrap.
• Collaborate with supervisors, quality personnel, and team members to resolve production issues.
• Support continuous improvement and lean manufacturing initiatives.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and work instructions.

Qualifications

Required

• High school diploma or GED.
• 2 years of manufacturing experience, preferably operating punch press, stamping, or metal processing equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret work orders, setup instructions, and specifications.
• Experience using measuring tools such as tape measures, calipers, and micrometers.
• Basic math skills, including fractions and decimals.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. and perform physical work in a manufacturing environment.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality and safety.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Preferred

• Previous experience operating Vaski punch press equipment.
• Metals, steel service center, or manufacturing industry experience.
• Forklift and overhead crane certification or experience.
• Computer proficiency and experience with production reporting systems.
• Lean manufacturing or continuous improvement experience.
