thyssenkrupp integrated its Forging & Machining and Undercarriage businesses to start the new business unit Forged Technologies. With roughly 7,000 employees at 18 production sites in seven different countries, thyssenkrupp Forged Technologies has sales of over one billion euros and operates over 50 forging press lines and more than 150 machining and assembly lines in seven countries. The product portfolio includes undercarriage systems for heavy machinery as well as crankshafts, connecting rods, pistons, chassis products, transmission systems and rotor shafts for the automotive industry.
Your responsibilitiesthyssenkrupp Crankshaft Company has an exciting opportunity for a shift Maintenance Engineer at our Danville, IL Forging facility. The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for addressing and assisting in any maintenance issues, to ensure smooth operation of the production line. Must be willing to work an off-shift.
- Addressing maintenance issues on the production line
- Providing technical assistance to line operators
- Developing and implementing preventative maintenance plans
- Communicate with line operators regarding technical assistance
- Utilize operating manuals and internet sources to determine appropriate actions for repair
- Provide assistance during major repairs
- Plan for future shut-downs and major repairs
- Address any urgent maintenance issues
- Make physical repairs as needed
- Communicate with contractors, provide assistance to them, and check work for completion
- Compile Downtime Report
- Provide expert advice without formal supervisory responsibility
- Plan work and establish priorities
Salary Range: $70,000 - $80,000
Your profile- Education/Credentials/Certifications
- Bachelor's Degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or related field or at least 7 years Experience as a Maintenance Engineer in a manufacturing setting
- Length of Experience
- At least 2 years of experience in maintenance in a manufacturing setting
- Previous maintenance experience with forging equipment is a plus
- Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledgeable of electronics, mechanics, and fluid power
- Working knowledge of programmable controllers and industrial robotics including Allen Bradley and Siemens PLC's and ABB Robotics
- Strong knowledge of PLCs, robotics, electrical, and troubleshooting
- Manual skills to operate tools and equipment when necessary
- Advanced mechanical knowledge
- Knowledge of machine controls and operation
- Excellent oral and written language ability
- Basic understanding of trigonometry
- Basic algebraic abilities as well as ability to read and interpret measurements
- Ability to adapt to changing technologies and learn functionality of new equipment and systems
- Excellent problem solving and reasoning ability
- Ability to follow written procedures and guidelines
- Excellent interpersonal abilities
- Adaptable
- Self-starter
- Ability to multi-task
