For more than a century, Thwing-Albert Instrument Company has designed and manufactured testing machines for measuring the physical properties of a range of materials, such as adhesives, paper, paper tissue, packaging, plastics, nonwovens, textiles and foils. Research laboratories, quality control departments and academia worldwide have come to rely on our testing instrumentation to accurately measure key physical attributes to ensure stable performance and quality.
Role Description
Responsible for the research, design, selection, development, test, documentation and support of the electronic components, products and systems in Thwing-Albert’s past, current and future instruments. May also do significant amounts of programming and configuration of these devices.
Qualifications
· Minimum of three years of experience in electronics system design and development.
· Minimum of three years of experience in PCB circuit design, including both digital and analog circuitry.
· Experience in PCB schematic capture/layout with Eagle or similar PCB design tool.
· Ability to generate and edit Gerber Files.
· Minimum of two years’ experience in Digital Control Systems.
· Experience with engineering bench equipment, power supplies, DVM, oscilloscope, analyzers, signal generators.
· Experience in Altera/Intel PLD programing with the Quartus II design tool, or similar FPGA/PLD and tool.
· Two years’ experience using an IDE for developing digital devices (Assembly, C, C ).
· Familiarity with Microsoft Windows, Microsoft Office (Word, Excel), and terminal emulation programs.
