Description

Olympic Health and Recovery Services (OHRS) is seeking a Regional Crisis Line Supervisor to join our growing Crisis Services Team in serving the Thurston-Mason region! We are a dynamic and rapidly growing organization serving the most vulnerable in our communities. We need more team members to join us in our mission to provide access to an effective, reliable safety net of behavioral health crisis and recovery support services throughout our region. We are seeking applicants experienced in providing social services to individuals with mental illness or serving behavioral health needs for vulnerable populations, as well as providing supervisory and administrative support to a multi-faceted crisis response initiative.

This position is responsible for the supervision, training, case consultation, and scheduling for the Regional Crisis Line team. This department provides services on the crisis continuum, consisting of intake and crisis management incoming from the community. Services are provided for a 7-county regional area to include: Cowlitz, Grays Harbor, Lewis, Mason, Pacific, Thurston, and Wahkiakum counties. The Regional Crisis Line Supervisor will interpret regulations and guidelines, provide technical review of all cases and paperwork, and oversee the day-to-day operations of the team.

 

Salary: $91,395.20 - $119,100.80 per year based on education, experience, and parity within the organization.

Schedule: Mon. - Fri. 11AM - 7PM. The Regional Crisis Line Supervisor may fill open staff shifts as they emerge to provide necessary coverage.

 

MAJOR RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the Regional Crisis Line team, consisting of Crisis Services Clinicians; determine work schedule and assignments to ensure full coverage of seven county regional area.
  • Provide technical oversight, case consultation, supervision, trouble shooting and problem resolution which includes development of safety plans and referrals to other services and resources to support an individual’s safety.
  • Interpret procedural guidelines for staff and provide assistance and direction to Crisis Services Clinicians concerning technical work.
  • Train, supervise and evaluate staff performance; provide coaching, counseling and corrective action for performance issues.
  • Responsible for delivering and maintaining quality crisis training that incorporates best practices in assessing risk, and the delivery of crisis intervention and stabilization services to all populations.
  • Review cases and legal paperwork for proper documentation, appropriate decision making and quality of work; conduct quality assurance reviews; develop service protocols.
  • Provides support to other agency clinicians in the form of consultation and assistance with joint outreach.
  • Provides direct crisis services as required and assists staff in escalated cases.
  • Provides assistance with answering calls on the Regional Crisis Line as necessary.
  • Supports the operationalization of a schedule that ensures adequate 24/7/365 coverage for regional crisis services line. May provide coverage for vacant shifts that require coverage.
  • Assists with audits and reviews including preparation as requested.
  • May be required to work with elected officials, OHRS leadership, and other stakeholders as appropriate.
  • Serves as RCL liaison with Thurston-Mason BH-ASO and local providers to include crisis outreach teams.
  • Demonstrate the OHRS mission, purpose, values and beliefs in everyday language and contact with the internal and external stakeholders
  • Keeps Crisis Services Manager, Clinical Director, and Management Team informed of pertinent matters on a regular basis.
  • Duties and responsibilities may be added, deleted and/or changed at the discretion of management.

Qualifications


QUALIFICATIONS
•    Master’s Degree in psychology, social work, or a related area.  Bachelor's degree in social sciences with 5 years experience in direct treatment that was gained under the supervision of a mental health professional and under a credential issued by WA DOH may be substituted.
•    Meets WA state qualifications to be a Mental Health Professional. 
•    Licensed by the WA Department of Health as a Social Worker, Mental Health Counselor, Marriage and Family Therapist, Psychologist or BSN/RN, or as a Licensed Agency Affiliated Counselor.  Certified Agency Affiliated Counselor license may be considered. 
•    At least two years of experience in direct treatment of mentally ill or emotionally disturbed persons. 
•    Experience with crisis intervention, including risk assessments.
•    Three (3) or more years professional, administrative, and/or supervisory experience providing services to individuals with Behavioral Health or Substance Use Disorders.  Any equivalent combination of experience and education that provides the applicant with the desired knowledge, skills and ability required to perform the essential job functions may be considered.
•    Ability to utilize a personal computer with applicable software to successfully perform essential job functions of the position including word processing spread sheet, electronic health record systems, analysis, information retrieval, and tracking.
•    Must pass criminal background clearances and excluded party sanctions.

Preferred:
•    Three (3) years experience providing crisis intervention services
•    Experience working on a crisis line
•    Licensed Substance Use Disorder Professional

•    Provide technical assistance and education to families, providers and local agencies.  
•    Ability to communicate effectively with individuals and groups regarding complex or controversial public policy issues or service as well as establish and maintain effective working relations with elected officials, staff and the community.
•    Ability to use the principles of recovery and person-centered treatment within the context of involuntary treatment assessment. 
•    Ability to work in high stress, high demand environment while communicating clearly and effectively with stakeholders.
•    Ability to write clear and concise reports and correspondence.
•    Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team and respectfully manage differences, opposing perspectives, opinions, and interests.
•    Ability to remain flexible and adaptable to change.
•    Strong critical thinking skills, ability to conceptualize and implement creative solutions.
•    Ability to develop knowledge and skills to implement a robust crisis training program that incorporates best practices in assessing risk, and the delivery of crisis intervention and stabilization services to all populations. 
•    Promote and champion the values of partnership, teamwork, compassion and integrity in all dealings within and outside of OHRS.


WORKING CONDITIONS: 
•    Primarily works in an office environment which may involve sitting and use of computer for extended periods of time.  Hybrid remote options may be available with demonstrated competencies, approval of supervisor, and needs of the crisis services team. 
•    This position will expose you to conversations about suicide, mental health issues and staff responding to crisis situations.
•    This position is part of a team of supervisors supporting the Crisis Services team.
•    Service responsibilities require on-call availability, including nights, weekends, and holidays as needed.
•    Minimal physical exertion is required. May be required to lift or move boxes/equipment weighing up to 25 lbs.
