Position Summary
The Staff Education Instructor focuses on designing and implementing, and leading TCMedia’s education and training programs including community classes, after-school camps, and workforce development initiatives. Additionally, the Instructor supports members and volunteers in creating their own productions, checkouts, and ensuring they receive guidance, resources, and a positive learning experience.
Key Responsibilities
Education (Primary Focus)
- Develop and lead engaging media classes and education programs for youth and adults, including video production, podcasting, editing, and related creative media skills.
- Design curriculum and lesson plans that align with TCMedia’s educational goals and community needs.
- Coordinate and execute logistics for after-school programs, youth media camps, and special workshops.
- Collaborate with leadership to develop and implement the Workforce Development Program, including outreach, partnerships, and hands-on learning components.
- Evaluate and track educational outcomes to measure success and inform program improvement.
Member Support (Secondary Focus)
- Provide member support for members, students, and volunteers on checkouts, reservations, and working on productions.
- Aid on member productions and projects in the studio, field, and editing as needed
- Assist in coordinating volunteers and student participants involved in member projects.
- Ensure a safe, inclusive, and welcoming learning environment for all members.
Qualifications
- Needs to have strong knowledge of video production gear and equipment
- Bachelor’s degree in Education, Media Production, Communications, or related field.
- Experience teaching or training others, preferably in media or creative arts.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple educational programs simultaneously.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills; able to work effectively with diverse groups.
Preferred Skills
- Experience developing curriculum or training materials.
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite, Final Cut Pro, or similar editing software.
- Experience mentoring youth or coordinating volunteers.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a creative, mission-driven organization.
Job Type: Full-time
Pay: $18.00 - $24.00 per hour
Expected hours: 32 per week
