About the Role
We are seeking an experienced and driven Oilfield Automation Technician with a strong working knowledge of ABB Totalflow systems, including integration, programming, and support. This role requires someone who not only understands the technical side of Totalflow automation inside and out—but also has the leadership mindset to assess a job’s full scope and help guide it to completion on time and on budget. You’ll be hands-on in the field and instrumental in designing, troubleshooting, and optimizing remote measurement and automation systems for oil and gas operations throughout Western Oklahoma.
Key Responsibilities
- Program, integrate, and commission ABB Totalflow RTUs, flow computers, and remote I/O.
- Diagnose and resolve issues related to Modbus, SCADA, and telemetry.
- Interpret job scopes and assist in managing project timelines, materials, and manpower needs.
- Work closely with engineers, electricians, and field supervisors to execute automation scopes effectively.
- Assist with documentation, reporting, and ensuring compliance with customer and regulatory standards.
- Provide technical mentoring to junior technicians as needed.
What You Bring
- 3 years’ hands-on experience in oilfield automation, with a deep focus on ABB Totalflow systems.
- Strong understanding of Totalflow protocols, applications, and programming workflows (PCCU proficiency a must).
- Ability to read and interpret P&IDs, loop drawings, and control diagrams.
- Confidence in managing job flow: from evaluating site readiness to ensuring field-level execution matches project specs.
- Strong communication skills and a proactive attitude—you see what needs done and make it happen.
- Valid driver’s license with a good driving record; willing to travel locally to job sites.
Bonus Points For
- Experience integrating with other platforms (e.g., ROC107, Bristol, Ignition, or VTScada).
- Electrical license or knowledge of motor control, VFDs, and power systems.
- Familiarity with EFM reporting, gas measurement audits, or measurement verification.
