Technical Program Manager
Position Summary
We are seeking a Staff Technical Program Manager, Operations/Manufacturing, to lead cross-functional operations programs supporting the industrialization and launch of vehicle programs. This role ensures synchronized planning and readiness across all manufacturing areas and enabling functions to deliver successful vehicle introductions that meet timing, cost, and quality targets.
You Will:
- Serve as the primary Operations/Manufacturing representative to Program Management, Engineering, Supply Chain, and other centralized functions, ensuring alignment between product maturity and factory readiness.
- Provide program oversight for the Integrated Master Schedule (IMS) and collaborate with project controls to manage program timelines.
- Lead cross-functional readiness across all manufacturing areas (Stamping, Body in White, Paint, General Assembly, Powertrain) and enabling teams (Manufacturing Engineering, Logistics, Launch, IT/MES, EHS, Quality, Material Planning).
- Drive execution of manufacturing-led pre-production build phases, ensuring equipment, workforce, materials, and logistics are fully prepared.
- Chair operational governance and readiness forums; support stage-gate criteria, program milestone reviews, and escalation protocols.
- Collaborate with global operations, engineering, supply chain, and leadership teams to resolve constraints and maintain program momentum.
You Bring:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Project Management, STEM, or related discipline.
- Minimum 8 years of experience in the automotive manufacturing industry, with strong knowledge of vehicle program execution.
- Minimum 8 years of experience with China-based manufacturing operations and vendor/supplier management.
- Minimum 8 years of experience delivering executive-level summaries and presentations, with the ability to communicate risks, mitigation plans, and status updates to VP and executive leadership.
- Experience supporting vehicle launches and managing complex, cross-functional manufacturing programs.
- Strong understanding of vertically integrated manufacturing processes and how they intersect with product development.
- Proficiency in program governance, risk management, and integrated scheduling tools (e.g., MS Project, Primavera P6).
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement methodologies.
- Excellent cross-functional collaboration, stakeholder management, and communication skills.
- Bilingual proficiency in English and Mandarin, essential for communication with global engineering, manufacturing, and supply chain partners.
- Ability to travel domestically and internationally as required.
Preferred Qualifications:
- PMP or PgMP certification.
- Experience with EV manufacturing and global operations.
- Familiarity with APQP/PPAP, S&OP processes, and digital manufacturing systems (MES, ERP).
Assignment Travel Requirements:
- First half: Based between Newark and Phoenix.
- Second half: International travel to China required.
Pay : 80-89/hour
