Job Summary
The QA Test Engineer 2 will support the Manufacturing and Test Engineering team, focusing on automated test systems used in high-volume manufacturing environments. The role works closely with Engineering, Quality, Production, and Maintenance teams and provides exposure to advanced technologies and collaboration with international engineering partners.
Key Responsibilities
- Review and approve test specifications, change requests, test sequences, parameters, and cycle-time requirements.
- Design automated test system hardware, including layout, component selection, cable/connector sizing, and thermal/noise considerations.
- Develop modular test applications with intuitive GUIs, database integration, and user access control.
- Provide input on test station design, DUT handling, and interface requirements for station control systems.
- Manage internal and external sourcing, RFQ processes, supplier selection, and progress tracking for test equipment.
- Create commissioning and validation plans (GR&R, red-rabbit tests, simulated failure modes).
- Launch automated test systems on production lines and monitor system functionality and performance.
- Train maintenance and operations teams on troubleshooting and recovery.
- Support teams in developing dashboards for data visualization.
Required Qualifications
- Education: BS in Electrical or Electronics Engineering.
- Experience: 3–5 years developing automated test equipment for manufacturing.
- Experience launching automated test systems in high-volume production environments
- Experience testing electric vehicle powertrain components (preferred).
Top Technical Skills
- 2 years developing automated test equipment for manufacturing.
- 2 years launching automated test systems on high-volume manufacturing lines.
- Experience testing EV powertrain components (preferred).
- Knowledge of electrical circuits, cables, connectors, and schematic design (AutoCAD/Eplan).
- Experience with NI platforms (PXI, cDAQ, cRIO) and test software (LabVIEW, TestStand, Python, MATLAB, Arduino IDE).
- Familiarity with Automotive Ethernet, CAN, LIN, Ethernet/IP, OPC-UA.
- Ability to use electrical test tools (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power analyzers, etc.).
- Strong organizational, communication, and documentation skills.
Pay: $40-47/per hour
