Key Responsibilities
- Process and submit third-party insurance claims as needed
- Follow up on denied or suspended claims to ensure timely resubmission
- Scrub medical encounters for CPT and ICD-10 coding accuracy before submission
- Research and resolve claims issues within the Practice Review Work Queue
- Identify trends to improve workflow and reduce claim denials
- Collaborate with internal and external teams and stay current on third-party payer policy changes
- Answer billing-related calls from patients with professionalism and empathy
- Maintain accurate and organized billing documentation for tracking and compliance
Required:
- Medical Billing and Coding Certificate OR a minimum of 1 year relevant job experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook and Excel
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Experience with eClinicalWorks (eCW) software
- Familiarity with Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) billing

- Location: Hybrid (remote and Woonsocket, RI Thundermist site)
- Schedule: Full-time (40 hours/week)
