Experienced Tree Climber

Thundering Oak Enterprises, Inc (AKA Thundering Oak Tree Care) is a family owned business that was originally founded in 1976 as A-1 Tree Surgery in Tacoma. Purchased in 1982 by Bryce Landrud, the company has grown moderately through the decades, providing most currently approved arboriculture practices. Our company's mission is to provide our clients with accurate and sustainable information to help them choose the practices that best reflects their needs regarding safety and risk, health and structural condition, and aesthetic appeal.

Job Overview
We are seeking an Experienced Tree Climber to join our professional arboriculture team. This role involves performing safe and efficient tree care, trimming, and maintenance tasks at various sites. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tree climbing, rigging, and landscape maintenance, with a focus on safety and precision. This position offers opportunities for growth within the industry and the chance to work on diverse projects that enhance urban and natural landscapes.

Duties

• crew leadership qualities and experience desired but not required; The ability to work well with others is a must. Professional and drama free in the work setting.
• SRT skills also desired but not required.
• Rigging skills that include canopy movement as well as tree removal operations required.
• Chip truck driving ability and chipper operation required.
• Bucket truck operation useful.
• Landscape management skills useful for ornamental tree & shrub pruning, Hedges, etc.
• Safe practices education regarding chainsaws, gear, machinery, etc.
• Customer management, services and support required.
• Willingness to learn and teach new skill set.

Skills and job requirements

• DEPENDABLE, MUST BE ABLE TO SHOW UP EVERYDAY ON TIME
• Excellent customer service
• Current driver's license and transportation.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Weather resistant.
• Ability to work with and adapt to others.
• 3 years' experience in tree care industry.
• Pay DOE
• Physical fitness, coordination, Attention to detail, respectful of people's property and belongings.
• Ideally ISA Certified but not required
• 90 Day probation upon hired
• Potential future ownership

Pre-Screen

• Upon offer, employees may be required to complete and pass a pre-employment drug screen, background, and/or MVR check.

Pay: $30.00 - $40.00 per hour
