Our client, a manufacturing firm based in Sanj Jose, CA is looking for a detail-oriented and proactive AR Specialist to join our finance team on a contract basis. In this role, you'll be a critical player in maintaining their financial health — ensuring cash flows smoothly, customer accounts are accurate, and the team's month-end close runs like clockwork. Job duties:
- Process and apply customer payments (checks, ACH, wire transfers) with speed and accuracy.
- Generate, distribute, and track invoices and account statements proactively.
- Monitor AR aging reports and take initiative on overdue accounts before they become problems.
- Investigate and reconcile payment mismatches, working cross-functionally to reach quick resolutions.
- Maintain organized, thorough AR documentation that supports internal and external audit requests.
- Partner with Sales, Customer Service, and Accounting to resolve billing and payment issues seamlessly.
- Contribute to timely close activities including AR reporting and full account reconciliations.
Qualifications:
- 5 years of hands-on experience in accounts receivable or general accounting
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance
- Solid grasp of GAAP and core accounting principles
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (pivot tables, VLOOKUPs, and beyond)
- Sharp analytical skills with a knack for spotting and resolving discrepancies
- Excellent communicator confident engaging with customers and cross-functional partners
- Highly organized, deadline-driven, and uncompromising on accuracy
