Quality Inspector Position Overview

The Quality Inspector inspects products for dimensional characteristics and compliance with specifications. This role involves meticulous attention to detail, adherence to quality control procedures, and effective communication with relevant stakeholders to address and resolve quality issues.

Quality Inspector Essential Functions

• Examines products for cosmetic defects such as cracks, flash, burns or splay and verifies product using appropriate inspection, measuring and test equipment.
• Compares product to approved sample, ensuring completion of assembly and conformance to specifications.
• Communicates any non-conformance to appropriate personnel.
• Labels defective parts, tagging according to quality procedures and completes necessary documentation such as Process Logs.
• Verify products are packaged according to specifications.
• Performs other duties that may be assigned.
  
  

Quality Inspector Required Experience

• Proven experience as a quality inspector or similar role.
• Ability to read, analyze and interpret procedures. and work instructions.
• Ability to carry out instructions in written, oral or diagram form.
• Ability to write legibly.
• Ability to effectively describe product quality information to appropriate personnel.
• Ability to use inspection, test, and measurement equipment.
• Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.
  
  

Quality Inspector Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
