Tool Room Machinist

Tool Room Technician/Machinist Position Overview

We are searching for a new member to join our Thunderbird Molding Team in Greensboro NC. The tool room tech/machinist will be experienced and understand the tooling manufacturing position and must process basic knowledge of machining related to plastics/injection molding.

Tool Room Machinist Essential Functions

• Be able to use all types of tooling and gauges.
• Be able to operate manual equipment.
• Maintain a clean and safe work area.
• Perform basic machining to work in the tool manufacturing field safely.
• Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related tasks as needed.
  
  

Tool Room Machinist Required Experience

• Apprenticeship or vocational training preferred.
• Basic knowledge of all types of tooling and gauges.
• Experience with machine tools or mechanical assembly.
• Should be capable of reading micrometers, telescoping gauges, calipers, comparator, indicators, etc.
• Good problem-solving skills, safety practices and attention to quality.
• 5 years experience in injection molding
• Basic workbench skills.
• Proficiency in manual machining skills.
  
  

Tool Room Machinist Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
• Ability to read applicable instructions.
