Production Supervisor Position Overview

The Production Supervisor directs the activities of a recognized manufacturing department. Makes sure production schedules and quality standards are met. Responsible for the safety of all employees in the department. Administers company policies to department. Assist in hiring process for department. Responsible for succession planning for department.

Production Supervisor Essential Functions

• Oversee production schedule and quality standards of the department.
• Oversee and ensure safety of team.
• Responsible for continuous improvement and cost control of the group - scrap and rework improvements, control cost of manufacturing process, prepare material and present monthly meetings.
• Supervise employees - train employees, update records, write and present employee evaluations, assist in hiring for department, set goals and track progress of department.
  
  

Production Supervisor Required Experience

• Proven experience as a production supervisor or similar role.
• Strong leadership abilities.
• Effective communication (verbal and written) and problem-solving skills.
• Intermediate computer skills (MS Office).
• Basic financial understanding.
  
  

Production Supervisor Physical Demands and Work Environment

• The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.
• The employee is exposed to moving mechanical parts.
• Frequently required lifting and/or moving up to 30 pounds.
• Frequently required standing, bending, squatting, and reaching with hands and arms.
• Regularly required to stand for extended periods, walk, talk, and hear.
• Ability to use hand tools.
