Position Summary:

The Cash Ops Manager is responsible for the management of Vault and Cage employees. The Manger is responsible for overseeing cash, chips and checks coming in and going out of the vault and cage. The Manager is responsible for overseeing the preparation of deposits and change orders coming in and going out to the bank. The Manager is responsible for the distribution, verification, counting and balancing all funds coming in and out of both departments. The Manager will oversee the operation of the kiosk and ATMs. The Manager will communicate issues to the Director of Finance and Management, ensure compliance with the National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC), Absentee Shawnee Gaming Commission (ASTGC), State/Federal/Tribal policy and Thunderbird Entertainment Industries policy and procedures. The Manager will work hours appropriate to meet the needs of the business, which may include nights, weekends and holidays.

Essential Funcitons of the Position:

· Directs all functions of the cage and vault departments

· Provides technical assistance and training to department personnel by explaining and demonstrating the work to be performed

· Oversee and report on all phases of department operations

· Maintains accurate records of funds coming in and going out to the bank

· Prepares daily spreadsheets for administrative records

· Knowledge of accounting concepts, techniques and principles

· Ability to apply knowledge of accounting and finance

· Work is subject to periodic audits and may be reviewed by casino compliance, Director of Finance, Revenue Audit, internal and external auditors of overall standard of performance

· Supervises and trains team members in the performance of standard and routine posting and preparation of data for reports or documentation, cash control, special assignments and other related tasks

· Maintains up to date records

· Directs and /or assists in the performance of tasks when needed i.e. unusual problems or questions, explaining procedures to new employees

· Investigates and resolves complaints regarding the departments

· Establish department procedures

· Works closely with department supervisors to implement procedural changes, testing, and work flow

· Oversees staff scheduling

· Prepares supervisor and employee evaluations

· Uses tact and diplomacy when dealing with others

· Recommends technical changes to enhance department efficiency

· Implements department policies and procedures, submits changes when needed, monitors departments adherence to policies and procedures

· Communicates with outside vendors to resolve technical issues and/or enhancements to equipment

· Ensure safety and cleanliness of department at all times

· Make good and proper decisions that reflect positively on you and the Casino

· Manage departmental employees and schedule proper coverage for all shifts

· Maintain and enter time by payroll deadlines

· Hire, train and counsel employees

· Maintain all departmental inventory and order supplies as needed

· Review, prepare and maintain monthly departmental budgets and obtain management approval for any purchases

· Create bank deposits and change orders

· Must speculate based on the past to order the correct denominations to maintain a consistent amount of money in the Vault

· Oversee maintenance of any and all departmental equipment as needed

· Ensure proper equipment training for departmental employees

· Delegation of authority to Vault / Cage Supervisor and tellers

  • Oversee documentation of monies that come in and out of the Cage / Vault to the Audit department
  • Maintain proper compliance, Title 31 and customer service training for employees
  • Maintain high levels of confidentiality at all times
  • Maintain good working relationship with all co-workers and general public
  • Perform other duties as assigned

· Willingness to work for long hours and variable schedule including weekends and holidays

· Be on call 24 hours a day 7 days a week

· Knowledge and experience with modern office equipment and its usage.

· Demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously; skill in working in an environment subject to constant interruptions and quickly changing priorities; ability to prioritize responsibilities when necessary; effective time-management skills.

· Knowledge of the operation of a variety of computer software, including word processing and 10 key and proficient typing.

· Knowledge of Tribal/State/Federal laws and regulations.

· Knowledge of National Indian Gaming Commission (NIGC) and the Indian Gaming Regulatory Act (IGRA).

· Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to establish and maintain effective working relationships with staff, vendors, Board members, and the public, both in person and through phone, e-mail and written correspondence.

· Ability to learn quickly, self-leader with initiative, highly flexible and comfortable in a constantly changing environment.

· Ability and accuracy to handle large sums of money.

· Skill in communication with employees in any situation.

· Good math skills and ability to use those skills quickly.

· Ability to solve problems in the Vault as they arise.

· Ability to work in a fast paced environment and work well under pressure.

· Ability to train, instruct and supervise a variety of employees at all levels.

· Ability to remain calm under pressure and possess positive conflict management skills.

Will oversee the Cage and Vault departments.

  • Required to walk, sit and stand for periods of time.
  • Ability to push, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Ability to bend, stoop, kneel and move intermittently throughout the day.
  • Indoor/Outdoor; exposure to external environmental conditions possible.
  • Exposure to smoke and second hand smoke.
  • Noise level can be minimal to intense.

· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or Business Management; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

· 2 years of Casino experience required.

· 3 years of management / supervisor experience required.

· 2 years previous cash handling experience required.

· Must possess a valid driver’s license.

· Must be able to pass a background check and obtain a key gaming license.
