Description
The Surveillance Agent is responsible for maintaining a covert and proactive surveillance operation to safeguard the company's gaming licenses and assets. All responsibilities must align with Thunder Valley Casino Resort's standards, policies, and procedures.
Essential Functions
- Practice, support, and promote Thunder Valley Casino Resort's "Winning Attitude" company-wide culture while demonstrating AAA Four Diamond service standards at all times.
- Protect company assets by monitoring and observing daily operations across all departments at Thunder Valley Casino Resort.
- Monitor compliance with other departments' policies and procedures.
- Operate all surveillance CCTV and related equipment, conducting floor observations as needed to detect violations of laws, policies, or procedures.
- Report any violations of laws, gaming regulations, or company policies and procedures, as well as any pertinent information regarding the Surveillance Department, to Surveillance management.
- Conduct routine random surveillance, special observations as approved by Surveillance Management, and surveillance reviews or audits to confirm transactions or events.
- Collaborate with other departments and team members involved in Thunder Valley Casino Resort surveillance rooms to protect company assets.
- Maintain a thorough understanding of company emergency action procedures.
- Uphold strict confidentiality regarding the operations, controls, and procedures involved in surveillance activities.
- Observe principles of truth, accuracy, and prudence, ensuring personal feelings, prejudices, animosities, or friendships do not influence judgments.
- Maintain comprehensive knowledge of gaming regulations, the company's Internal Control Systems, departmental policies and procedures, and applicable federal, state, and local laws.
- Stay proficient in monitoring other departments' policies and procedures.
- Develop and maintain expertise in all casino games, including but not limited to Blackjack, Roulette, Baccarat, Craps, Let It Ride, Caribbean Stud Poker, Pai Gow Poker, Slots, Poker, and Bingo, including dealing procedures, counting strategies, and methods of cheating.
- Keep current on information regarding known cheaters, advantage players, scams, and illegal gaming methods.
- Attend court hearings and other legal meetings as a witness for Thunder Valley Casino Resort, gaming regulatory agencies, or law enforcement agencies when required.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- One (1) year of experience as a Surveillance Trainee with Thunder Valley Casino Resort or equivalent work experience.
- Ability to pass a written surveillance test.
- Strong attention to detail, with emphasis on observation skills, mathematical proficiency, and report writing.
- Professional and investigative mindset with the ability to work autonomously and maintain a low profile.
- Reliable, trustworthy, and honest character.
- Ability to react quickly and accurately under demanding, high-stress conditions.
- Proficiency in operating all surveillance CCTV and related equipment.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with guests, team members, and management.
- Flexibility to work constantly changing schedules, including holidays and fluctuating days off, to meet business demands.
- Must be at least 21 years of age.
- Must be able to obtain a UAIC Tribal Gaming License.
- Normal or corrected vision, with the ability to see color and distinguish letters, numbers, and symbols.
- Ability to hear effectively.
- Must be able to sit for the duration of a shift.
- Capability to stand, walk, bend, and kneel as needed.
- Ability to view a computer monitor for extended periods.
- Manual dexterity to operate job-related equipment.
- Ability to lift up to 30 lbs. with or without assistance.
