Duties
- Perform comprehensive dental cleanings, including scaling, polishing, and fluoride treatments to promote optimal oral health.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and dental charts to inform treatment plans.
- Take dental radiographs (X-rays) using modern medical imaging equipment while ensuring patient safety and comfort.
- Educate patients on proper oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to foster lifelong healthy habits.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR) systems accurately and efficiently for documentation review and medical coding.
- Uphold strict infection prevention protocols by adhering to healthcare infection prevention and control standards, including sterilization procedures.
Requirements
- Valid licensure as a Registered Dental Hygienist in accordance with state regulations.
- Experience with dental office software.
- Knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical terminology relevant to dentistry.
- Hands-on experience with dental equipment, X-ray machines, and medical imaging techniques.
- Strong understanding of HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality at all times.
- Excellent patient care skills with a focus on patient assessment, education, and comfort.
- Experience in general dentistry or dental clinic environments is preferred; prior exposure to EMR systems is advantageous.
