What You’ll Do
As an Optician, you will:
- Deliver outstanding customer service and create a welcoming experience for every patient.
- Schedule appointments and assist patients with questions regarding vision care.
- Verify medical and vision insurance eligibility and maintain accurate patient records.
- Help patients select frames and lenses that best fit their prescription, lifestyle, and insurance coverage.
- Take precise optical measurements to ensure accurate, comfortable eyewear.
- Order glasses and contact lenses, monitor orders, and ensure timely delivery.
- Inspect, adjust, fit, and dispense eyewear while educating patients on proper wear and care.
- Perform eyeglass adjustments and minor repairs.
- Assist with inventory management, ordering optical supplies, and maintaining frame displays.
- Schedule referrals and support the Optometrist with daily clinic operations.
- Resolve patient concerns with professionalism and compassion while providing an exceptional customer experience.

- Has excellent customer service and communication skills.
- Enjoys helping patients find eyewear that fits their needs and lifestyle.
- Is organized, detail-oriented, and able to multitask in a fast-paced healthcare environment.
- Works independently while contributing positively to a collaborative team.
- Takes initiative, enjoys learning, and is committed to delivering high-quality patient care.
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required within 90 days of hire.
- Required to complete the Optician Apprentice Program.
- Ability to travel between TBCHS clinic locations as needed.
