We partner with Nebraska Probation, schools, and community programs to provide trauma-informed, family-centered support that promotes rehabilitation and lasting growth.
About the Role
We’re looking for a Bilingual Family Support Specialist to provide in-home and community-based services for youth and families involved with probation or the court system.
This position focuses on helping families navigate the justice system, strengthening relationships, and building skills for long-term success. You’ll coach youth and caregivers, improve communication and coping strategies, and connect families to vital community resources.
What You’ll Do
- Build trust and positive relationships with youth and caregivers
- Conduct intake assessments and develop individualized support plans
- Teach coping, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Help families understand probation and court processes
- Provide ongoing advocacy and community resource connections
- Communicate regularly with probation and court officers
- Maintain timely, accurate documentation and reports
- Uphold trauma-informed, culturally responsive practices
Qualifications
Required
- Experience working with at-risk or probation-involved youth and families
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and adolescent development
- Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
- Flexible availability (day, evening, and weekend hours)
- Bilingual ability required – Spanish/English strongly preferred
Strongly Preferred
- Vietnamese/English, Arabic/English, Somali/English, or Karen/English
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, Human Services, or related field
- Associate’s degree with 2 years of experience in family or behavioral support
Compensation & Schedule
- $28–$35/hour based on education and experience
- Contractors are paid per hour of direct service and documentation time
- Workload varies with caseload: minimum ~3 hours/week (1 family) up to 35 hours/week
- Flexible scheduling (day, evening, and weekend availability preferred)
