What are the responsibilities and job description for the Toddler Teacher (Ages 2-3) position at Thriving Roots Early Education?
At Thriving Roots Early Education, we believe children are capable, curious, and deeply deserving of respect. We are looking for a nurturing, grounded, and intentional Toddler Teacher to guide our 2–3 year old classroom—where connection, independence, and toilet learning are a central part of the day.
This classroom is a toilet learning-focused environment, and supporting children (and families) through this milestone will be a meaningful and consistent part of your role.
About the Role:
Our Toddler Teacher creates a calm, engaging, and developmentally appropriate space rooted in connection and respect. Using a blend of Waldorf, Reggio Emilia, and Montessori-inspired practices, you will support children as they build independence, confidence, and body awareness.
Toilet learning is approached with patience, consistency, and strong school-home partnership. You will work closely with families to ensure children experience a cohesive and supportive transition out of diapers.
Key Responsibilities:
- Foster a warm, responsive, and respectful classroom environment
- Support children’s social-emotional development and growing independence
- Implement daily rhythms including play-based learning, outdoor time, and group experiences
- Guide children through the toilet learning process with consistency and care
- Create and maintain individualized potty training plans in partnership with families
- Communicate regularly with parents about progress, needs, and successes
- Maintain a clean, organized, and well-prepared classroom environment
- Observe and document children’s development
- Collaborate with your team to support classroom and center needs
Toilet Learning Focus:
- Lead and support children through all stages of potty training
- Maintain consistent toileting routines and expectations

Qualifications:
- Experience working with toddlers (ages 2–3) preferred
- Strong understanding of early childhood development
- Patience, consistency, and a calm, grounded presence
- Excellent communication skills and comfort working closely with families
- Ability to be flexible, collaborative, and proactive
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Must pass background check
What We’re Looking For:
- Someone who values connection over compliance
- A teacher who can hold clear boundaries with kindness
- A team player who is dependable and communicative
- A genuine passion for early childhood and supporting developmental milestones
Physical Requirements:
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs
- Comfortable sitting, kneeling, and moving throughout the day
Ability to respond quickly to the needs of young children
Schedule & Compensation:
- Schedule M-F (40 hours a week)
- Compensation: $15-$17 an hour depending on experience and education.
Pay: $15.00 - $17.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
Salary : $15 - $17
