The role develops and leads the engagement professionals who provide local leadership, planning and execution of community and business development through:
- Community engagement and activation activities in partnership with Thrivent Financial Advisors and Thrivent Member Networks
- Strategic relationship development with local organizations
- Coordinated community growth and development efforts with field leaders
- Provides leadership to align their engagement team members to deliver business results in three primary areas: Drive Impact, Deliver Value to Clients and Grow Sales. Develops Engagement Leaders and/or Engagement Specialists to deliver outcomes in alignment with Thrivent’s strategic priorities and the Advisor Group growth plan.
- Works closely with the Market Vice President (MVP) and other Distribution field leaders to align the work of their team. The ME brings consistency to multiple engagement strategies within the Advisor Group or Distribution channel, such as new advisor support in growth markets and experienced advisor engagement and retention strategies. Develops strategic partnerships which lead to growth and engagement across multiple markets within the Advisor Group.
- Brings thought leadership and expertise of the engagement team to stakeholders to partner effectively and build engagement strategies into their work. Examples include new advisor training, recruiting and selection, marketing and brand, Church Finance, etc.
- Champions change efforts with their team by bringing clarity, building new skills, and reinforcing new and evolving programs and processes. Examples include adoption of Salesforce B2E with advisor documentation, using a new strategic partnership evaluation process, or consistent meeting agendas with advisors which lead to consistent support for engagement work.
- Serves as the Thrivent Member Network (TMN) President in the market areas they serve and provides staff leadership to the TMN Board of that network. Provides strategic leadership to the engagement plan in their network to deliver outcomes of community impact, client engagement and sales growth through the engagement activities of their team Develops a strategic plan to deliver on the Membership outcomes of the market areas they serve. These strategic priorities include:
- Community impact through Thrivent’s financial wellness and community impact programs,
- Delivering value to clients by helping advisors leverage Membership programs and activities to build a purpose driven business, and
- Growing sales by creating opportunities for advisors to deepen client relationships and build connections with prospective clients and community partners.
- Builds strategic relationships in the key markets of the region, and lead the deployed team as they create opportunities with churches and community organizations that lead to client growth and increased engagement
- Responsible for oversight of an operating budget in range of $500,000 - $1,500,000, and for investment of Thrivent Member Network budget ranging from $500,000 - $1,500,000 to achieve outcomes of the Advisor Group and Thrivent Member Network(s) they serve.
- Recruits, develops, and sustains a high-performing team while promoting a culture of shared accountability, operational excellence, and partnership across the organization.

Required:
- Bachelor’s degree or commensurate experience
- Experienced people leader and success coaching and developing people
- Experience leading large, remote teams effectively
- Demonstrated ability to build, activate, and leverage networks
- Ability to travel up to 50% and ability to flex schedule to work evenings/weekends occasionally
- Must have proper home office environment to conduct remote work. This includes suitable high speed internet to conduct the business of the role.
- 10 years of work experience in business administration, community engagement, non-profit or volunteer management, or marketing.
- Volunteer or community development experience
- Experience with and understanding of Christian communities
