Job Description
The Radiology Technologist will be responsible for performing diagnostic imaging examinations and providing appropriate care for patients within the assigned unit. The individual must demonstrate knowledge in the age-appropriate care of patients and the principles of growth and development throughout the lifespan. This role requires the ability to assess patient data, interpret information, and provide care as per department policies and procedures.
Culture and Ethics
The Radiology Technologist will work with patients and employees from diverse cultural and religious backgrounds and must adhere to the organization's Ethics and Compliance Program. All variances must be reported to the immediate supervisor or through the appropriate channels.
Essential Functions
- Perform radiographic examinations of all body parts for diagnostic interpretation.
- Exercise professional judgment in the performance of procedures while applying principles of radiation protection.
- Maintain accurate patient records and files.
- Participate in the departmental quality assurance program.
- Pursue continuing education opportunities.
- Assist in the transfer of patients to and from the radiology department.
- Rotate shifts as required and perform ancillary duties as assigned by the supervisor.
- Ensure compliance with policies and procedures established by administration.
- Maintain personal hygiene and upkeep of the department.
- Demonstrate the ability to work effectively in stressful situations.
- Be available to take calls and report to work within 20 minutes when necessary.
- Willingness to perform additional duties as assigned.
Education and Licensure
- High School Diploma or GED
- Completion of a CT/XR training program
- Current ARRT certification in Radiography
- Certifications: ARRT (CT, XR)
