What are the responsibilities and job description for the Doctor of Physical Therapy position at Thrive Physio?
Overview
Thrive Physio is growing and we’re looking for a part-time physical therapist OR full-time physical therapist to join our Decatur, GA location!
We are a one-on-one cash based orthopedic physical therapy practice serving high-performing adults who want to stay active, strong, and out of pain for the long haul. Our clients value quality care, personal attention, and expert guidance- and so do we. We look at the whole body as a system to find the root cause of pain or dysfunction and our treatment philosophies blend manual therapy, exercise prescription, habit optimization and gym programming. We meet our clients wherever they are in their journey- getting out of pain, optimizing movement patterns, or preventing injury. This position offers a rewarding opportunity to make a meaningful difference in patients' lives while working within a collaborative, innovative environment committed to excellence.
What We’re Looking For:
- Position: Part-time OR Full-time Physical Therapist
- Location: Decatur, GA optional mobile visits (*see below)
- Schedule: 2-3 days/week if part-time, 4-5 days/week if full-time
- Start Date: Flexible
*We provide mobile visits in clients' homes within the Atlanta metro area- if this is something you’re open to and comfortable with. It’s not required, but could be a great supplement to the in-clinic care for the right clinician.
Who You’ll Work With:
You’ll treat motivated, active clients in a 1-on-1 setting. No double bookings or insurance limitations or “I’m here because my doctor required it.” Our caseload includes a mix of orthopedic rehab, performance optimization, and long-term wellness care. Many clients work with us to solve a long-term nagging pain point or even when they’re not injured to prevent problems before they start.
What You’ll Be Doing:
- Perform full-body, root-cause evaluations
- Deliver 55-minute, personalized sessions
- Create custom movement and strength programs
- Educate and empower clients toward independence
- Collaborate with a small, mission-driven team
Growth & Community Engagement
This is not a “show up and treat” role- we’re looking for someone who wants to grow with us.
You’ll be supported in building your caseload, but must be excited to:
- Meet like-minded providers and fitness professionals in the community
- Host occasional workshops at local gyms, yoga studios, or run clubs
- Participate in social media content (filming short tips or demos)
This role is perfect if:
- You are independent, proactive and love connecting with people
- You enjoy giving each client your full attention and highest level of care
- You’re curious, collaborative, and always learning
- You value autonomy in your practice
- You’re excited about blending rehab, prevention and wellness- you enjoy building long-term relationships, not just discharge plans
- You’re a strong communicator who loves working with motivated wellness-minded clients
- You are looking for flexible hours and time off that supports your lifestyle
Bonus if you have interest in a specific sport, body region or niche!
Requirements:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree
- Active Georgia PT license (or eligible)
- 1–2 years of orthopedic clinical experience
- Confident in building rapport and cultivating client relationships
- Comfortable engaging with the local wellness community
Perks & Culture:
- Competitive pay in a private-pay model
- Flexible scheduling in a low-stress environment
- Clients who are proactive and fun to work with
- Opportunity to expand hours or digital services if desired
- Autonomy, support, and mentorship in concierge care, marketing, and community relationship-building so you can grow a caseload that reflects your passions.
