Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Physical Therapy Assistant to join our dynamic healthcare team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in supporting physical therapists in providing high-quality patient care in the home health environment. This position requires a strong understanding of anatomy, physiology, and medical terminology to assist in the development and implementation of effective treatment plans for patients of all ages.
Duties
- Assist physical therapists in implementing treatment plans for patients with various conditions, including orthopedic, geriatric, pediatric, and acute care needs.
- Conduct trigger point therapy and other therapeutic techniques under the supervision of licensed physical therapists.
- Provide direct patient care by helping patients with exercises, mobility training, and daily living activities.
- Maintain accurate patient records and documentation regarding treatment progress and outcomes.
- Participate in discharge planning to ensure a smooth transition for patients leaving skilled nursing facilities or inpatient care.
- Collaborate with healthcare professionals to develop comprehensive care plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Educate patients and their families on home exercise programs and self-care strategies to promote recovery.
- Ensure compliance with safety protocols and maintain a clean and organized work environment.
Qualifications
- Completion of an accredited Physical Therapy Assistant program.
- Knowledge of medical terminology, anatomy, physiology, and physiotherapy practices.
- Experience in skilled nursing facilities, outpatient clinics, or home health settings is preferred.
- Familiarity with discharge planning processes and care plan development.
- Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare teams.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team while demonstrating compassion and empathy towards patients.
- Previous experience with geriatrics or pediatrics is a plus.

Pay: $35.94 - $50.42 per hour
