THRIVE Home Support is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home and community-based support to individuals throughout Maine. As a PSS, you will assist clients with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life in accordance with Maine DHHS guidelines.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating
- Provide support with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) including meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and errands
- Offer companionship and emotional support
- Assist with medication reminders (per Maine PSS regulations)
- Support clients in their homes and communities
- Observe and report changes in client condition or safety concerns
- Follow individual service plans and agency policies
- Complete required documentation accurately and on time
- Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA and mandated reporting laws
Qualifications
- Must be 18 years of age or older
- High school diploma or GED preferred
- Completion of a Maine DHHS-approved PSS training program
- Listed on the Maine PSS Registry (or ability to obtain)
- Ability to pass required background checks
- CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if required)
