Personal Support Specialist (PSS)

THRIVE Home Support is seeking compassionate and dependable Personal Support Specialists (PSS) to provide in-home and community-based support to individuals throughout Maine. As a PSS, you will assist clients with daily living activities while promoting independence, dignity, and quality of life in accordance with Maine DHHS guidelines.

Responsibilities

• Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) such as bathing, dressing, grooming, toileting, mobility, and eating
• Provide support with instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs) including meal preparation, light housekeeping, laundry, shopping, and errands
• Offer companionship and emotional support
• Assist with medication reminders (per Maine PSS regulations)
• Support clients in their homes and communities
• Observe and report changes in client condition or safety concerns
• Follow individual service plans and agency policies
• Complete required documentation accurately and on time
• Maintain client confidentiality and follow HIPAA and mandated reporting laws

Qualifications

• Must be 18 years of age or older
• High school diploma or GED preferred
• Completion of a Maine DHHS-approved PSS training program
• Listed on the Maine PSS Registry (or ability to obtain)
• Ability to pass required background checks
• CPR/First Aid certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Reliable transportation and valid driver’s license (if required)

Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
