Position Overview
Join Thrive HCR as a Virtual Monitor Tech ! This unique, technology-driven role is part of a centralized monitoring team that provides cardiac rhythm surveillance for multiple hospitals remotely.
This opportunity is ideal for highly skilled technicians experienced in EKG interpretation, dysrhythmia recognition, and telemetry monitoring, who thrive in fast-paced, tech-forward healthcare environments.
Job Duties
- Perform remote cardiac rhythm surveillance for multiple facilities simultaneously.
- Recognize, record, and report potentially dangerous rhythm changes and arrhythmias per established standards.
- Notify RNs of critical changes following communication and escalation protocols.
- Ensure patient safety through real-time monitoring using GE and Ascom systems.
- Collaborate with command center leadership, including RN Supervisors and Directors.
- Maintain high accuracy while observing up to 45–60 patients virtually using advanced telemetry technology.
Requirements
Certifications:
- BLS (AHA )
- EKG Interpretation (from an accredited program)
Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent related telemetry or cardiac monitoring experience (3 years preferred)
Additional Requirements:
- Must pass Advanced Dysrhythmia Exam (Lethal Rhythms section is pass/fail – one attempt only)
- No concurrent assignments permitted
- Must attend 2–3 days of day shift orientation if assigned to night shift
- Strong communication and critical thinking skills required

- Weekend Requirement: Must work 4 weekend shifts per 4-week schedule
- Floating: Opportunity to cross-train into Virtual Patient Companion or Clinical Connection Specialist roles
