Location: Roseburg, OR
Assignment: 13 weeks (with high possibility of extension)
Shift: 12-hour shifts, Days 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week
Weekend: Every other weekend
Weekly Gross: $2531.20/week
Position Overview
- Provide critical care nursing in a 16-bed acute-care ICU.
- Care for cardiac and respiratory patients requiring close monitoring, critical-care interventions, and titratable drips.
Position Details
- Patient ratio: 1:2
- 12-hour shifts
- Day shift: 6:45 AM–7:15 PM
- Night shift also available: 6:45 PM–7:15 AM
- Every other weekend
- 1 major and 1 minor holiday
- 2-shift unit-specific orientation
- Contract RNs float first based on staffing needs
- Black, cocoa brown, charcoal grey, navy blue, or khaki scrubs
Key Responsibilities
- Provide comprehensive ICU nursing care to critically ill patients.
- Care for cardiac and respiratory patients.
- Monitor and manage patients requiring critical-care interventions.
- Titrate medications and continuous infusions as ordered.
- Manage Levophed, Propofol, Insulin, Dopamine, Neosynephrine, and Precedex drips.
- Monitor cardiac rhythms and interpret telemetry.
- Provide care for patients requiring ventilators, CPAP, and BiPAP.
- Collaborate with intensivists, hospitalists, respiratory therapy, and other members of the healthcare team.
- Respond to changes in patient condition and provide appropriate interventions.
- Float to other areas as required based on staffing needs.
Requirements
- Active RN license eligible for submission
- 2 years of RN ICU experience
- BLS, ACLS & NIHSS
- Oregon 90-day Emergency RN License may be applied for; Oregon license is not required at submission : Pending License accepted
Additional Details
- Charge nurse and house supervisor available
- No nurse aides on the unit
- Hospitalist/Intensivist in-house
- Respiratory Therapy available 24/7
- No monitor techs; RNs read telemetry strips
- Call/standby may be required for low census
- If placed on call, 30-minute response time is required
- Ventilator, CPAP, and BiPAP equipment available
