Job Title: Packaging Production Team Member

Location: American Fork/Catalyst
Night Shift: Monday-Friday 10:00pm-6:30am
Job Summary: The Packaging Production Team Member is responsible for various tasks involved in the production, milling, inspection, labeling and packaging of freeze-dried products. This role ensures that products are processed, labeled and packaged according to company standards, maintaining high levels of quality and efficiency. Must be detail-oriented, reliable, and capable of working in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

- Monitor equipment performance and make necessary adjustments to ensure optimal operation.
- Operate milling equipment to process freeze-dried products according to standard operating procedures (SOPs) and safety guidelines.
- Ensure proper particle size and consistency of milled products.
- Maintain milling equipment and perform routine maintenance.
- Conduct regular inspections of raw materials, in-process products, and finished goods to ensure compliance with quality standards and specifications.
- Identify and report any quality issues or deviations from specifications.
- Record and maintain accurate inspection and test results.
- Package finished products according to company guidelines and customer requirements.
- Operate labeling machines to apply labels to products accurately.
- Ensure that all labels are correctly applied and correspond to the product
- Label and store packaged products in designated areas.
- Ensure packaging materials and labels are properly stocked and organized. The ability to read instructions and/or labels efficiently, attach labels and tags to products and packages, communicate effectively
- Clean and sanitize equipment, rooms, work areas, and production tools according to SOPs.
- Perform routine maintenance on equipment and report any malfunctions or need for repairs.
- Monitor the entire production process, including freeze-drying, milling, and packaging, to ensure efficiency and quality.
- Record production data and maintain accurate logs.
- Work collaboratively with other team members to meet production targets and deadlines.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and colleagues regarding production status and any issues that arise.
- Maintain regular and consistent attendance.
- Other duties as assigned
SAFETY REQUIREMENTS INCLUDE:
- Comply with the Environmental Health Safety & Security (EHS&S) policies and applicable regulatory and company EHS&S rules and requirements.
- Report to supervision conditions or practices that are either unsafe or that may adversely impact the environment, to ensure prompt resolution of potential hazards.
- Attend scheduled EHS&S training program.
- Actively support the organization’s efforts to meet or exceed EHS&S goals and plans.
- Recommend improved EHS&S practices.
- Practices safe work habits and follows general safety procedures such as proper lifting and bending, ergonomics, proper use of equipment and use of personal protection equipment (PPE).
- Adheres to and ensures lockout procedures are followed any time the equipment is being cleaned or maintained.

- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety, quality, and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry food safety, quality, & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety or quality incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- Adheres to and ensures Product Safety and Quality standards are followed.
- Adheres to and ensures GMP’s regarding food contact packaging as it pertains to the employee.
- Adheres to and ensures Thrives food safety, product defense standards and quality objectives complies with all SQF system requirements.
MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS (include education, experience, special skills, licenses and/or certifications required.)

- High school diploma or general equivalency degree (GED) or equivalent combination of education and experience. Preferred: previous experience in a manufacturing or production environment.
- Ability to operate and troubleshoot, packaging, milling, and labeling equipment.
- Strong attention to detail and quality-oriented mindset.
- Basic math and computer skills.
- Good communication and teamwork abilities.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions, including the ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS - Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
- Ability to stand for extended periods and perform repetitive tasks.
- Ability to lift and carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be able to wear and use the required personal protective equipment (PPE) including safety shoes, hairnets, beard snoods (if applicable), smocks, and other safety gear as needed to maintain hygiene and safety standards
- Must have the ability to work in varying temperature conditions. The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in a food manufacturing production environment.
- Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees.
