Job Title: Corporate Compliance Manager
Department: Quality Assurance
Reports to: Vice President of Quality
Location: Modesto, CA
The Corporate Compliance Manager is responsible for leading and overseeing compliance, audits, quality certifications for quality team members, quality documentation and organization, and other quality tasks for each plant in the North American network to ensure continuous production of safe and wholesome freeze-dried products and applications (consistent with established standards, customer specifications and production goals).
Essential Functions Include:
- Ensures all requirements for FSMA, HACCP, FDA, USDA, SQF, Organic, Non GMO Project Verified, Kosher, SMETA, and customer audit programs are in place and compliant.
- Develop, manage, and execute the organization’s food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance policies and establish performance standards, procedures, and audit controls to meet business requirements.
- Develop, manage, and execute the organization’s food safety, quality assurance, and regulatory compliance policies and program.
- Strong Project Management capabilities with an ability to manage multiple projects across multiple customers and apply efficient approaches to analytical and reporting processes.
- Responsible for internal, customer, and third-party audits, as well as regulatory inspections.
- Responsible for the company’s raw material specification database and document control program.
- Partners with our Sr. Supply Chain Quality Assurance Manager to ensure plants have all necessary documentation, certifications, and other requirements from our or domestic and foreign suppliers and assists the manager with our foreign supplier verification program (FSVP).
- Partners with our Corporate Quality Systems Manager to ensure plants have all key systems in place such as HAACPs, GMPs, SOPs, process diagrams, pest control, metal detection, other CCPs, sanitation etc.
- Providing essential data to customers in a timely manner to meet their technical and regulatory needs.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications Include:
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in food manufacturing quality assurance experience.
- Bachelor’s Degree required, master’s degree preferred in microbiology, food science, or chemical engineering.
- Proficiency in SQF, HACCP, FSMA/PCQI and other food safety systems is required.
- Travel 25-50% may be required depending on the time of year and needs at various plants.
Food Safety Requirements:
- Place high priority on food safety, quality, and sanitation by understanding and executing Mercer Food’s food safety and sanitation policies and procedures.
- Hold self and others accountable to Thrive Freeze Dry’s food safety & sanitation guidelines and policies by communicating any food safety incident, observation, or opportunity to your leadership team or teammates.
- In the absence of VP of QA or QA Manager at North American plants; serves as back up to ensure all food safety, quality objectives, and SQF system requirements are met.
Physical Requirements – Must be able to perform the following functions with or without accommodations:
- Consistent and reliable attendance.
- The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling; some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling; and frequent fine finger dexterity. Generally, the job requires the following percentages of time committed to physical activity: 34% or more sitting, 33% or more walking, and 33% or more standing.
- The job is performed under occasional temperature variations and in food manufacturing office and plant environment. Unrestricted visual and audio abilities are required for the safety of all employees. The ability to lift to 40 lbs. is required.
Salary : $115,000 - $135,000
