Controller

Controller for medium sized and growing engineering consulting firm based in Golden, CO.

Reporting to the CFO and managing a small accounting team, you will be responsible for the accounting, financial reporting, financial analysis, and internal controls. You will assist the company in M&A activities and financial due diligence and rolling in newly acquired companies.

Job Duties:

• Lead all aspects of accounting including financial reporting, month-end close, a/p, a/r, payroll, project accounting
• Financial Analysis - compile reports that support the business: budgets, financial statements, cash flow analysis, capital investment analysis
• Oversee multi-state payroll
• Oversee debt convenants
• Manage company fleet and drive strategy to decrease costs and maintain accurate reporting
• Continuous improvement of accounting processes and automation
• Support due diligence for acquisitions and roll-in of newly acquired businesses
• Manage small team of accounting professionals

Requirements:

• Bachelors in Accounting, CPA or CMA or CA is a strong plus
• Mix of Public Accounting & Industry experience is a plus. Will also consider strong industry experience without public accounting. Previous accounting manager/controller experience in a small/medium and growing company, ideally in engineering or construction or oilfield services or similar service business with Work in Progress
• Experience rolling in newly acquired companies is a strong plus
• Hands-on experience with mainstream accounting software - Sage Intaact is a plus!
• Outstanding communication skills and leadership skills
• Must have strong natural curiosity. Identify and implement improvements

This position is in office to start, and then can offer 2 days remote/work from home/week.
