Key Responsibilities
Create a warm, welcoming classroom environment where children feel safe, respected, and valued.
- Develop and implement engaging, age-appropriate lesson plans for PreK and School Age children.
- Promote kindergarten readiness through early literacy, math, social-emotional learning, and hands-on exploration.
- Supervise school-age children during before/after-school care, homework help, and enrichment activities.
- Maintain strong communication with families, providing updates on learning, behavior, and daily experiences.
- Ensure compliance with Tennessee licensing rules, health and safety requirements, and center policies.
- Guide children using positive reinforcement, redirection, and developmentally appropriate behavior strategies.
- Assist with meal/snack service, classroom organization, and maintaining a clean, safe environment
- Collaborate with coworkers to maintain a positive team culture and support daily center routines.
Qualifications
Must be at least 18 years old.
- High school diploma or GED required; CDA or degree in Early Childhood Education preferred but not required.
- Previous experience working with young children in a licensed childcare center, after-school program, or PreK classroom strongly preferred.
- Ability to meet all state and center health/safety requirements, including background checks and training.
- Strong communication, teamwork, and organizational skills.
- A genuine love for working with children and helping them succeed.
Salary : $11 - $14
