About the Role

Senior Accountant | Full-time | Cottonwood Heights, Utah

We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Senior Accountant to join our growing accounting team. This role will support a broad range of accounting functions across multiple entities, including financial reporting, accounts payable, reconciliations, and month-end close.

The ideal candidate is someone who takes ownership of their work, enjoys improving processes, and is interested in leveraging technology to make accounting more efficient. This position provides exposure to real estate development, asset management, property management and corporate operations while working closely with company leadership.

Accounting Operations

·       Manage the full accounts payable cycle — invoice review, coding, approvals, and vendor payments

·       Perform bank, corporate credit card, and balance sheet reconciliations

·       Maintain the general ledger and prepare journal entries and supporting schedules

·       Support intercompany accounting and reconciliations across affiliated entities

Financial Reporting & Analysis

·       Support monthly, quarterly, and year-end close, including financial statements and schedules

·       Analyze results and prepare budget-to-actual variance reporting

·       Assist with budgeting, forecasting, cash flow, and the annual audit and tax preparation

Process Improvement & Technology

·       Identify opportunities to improve accounting processes, controls, and reporting efficiency

·       Leverage AI, automation, and other emerging technologies to improve workflow efficiency and accuracy

·       Participate in special projects and continuous improvement initiatives

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field
• 3 years of accounting, tax or audit experience
• Strong understanding of accounting principles
• Strong Excel skills and ability to analyze financial data
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills
• Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines
• Strong communication skills and ability to collaborate across teams
• High level of integrity, professionalism, and ethical judgment with the ability to maintain confidentiality of financial and company information

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with real estate, property management, or real estate development accounting
• Experience with multi-entity accounting and intercompany transactions
• Experience with QuickBooks and/or property management software (Rent Manager and Entrata preferred)
• Experience with process automation tools, Microsoft SharePoint and AI applications

Compensation and Benefits

Base Salary: $85,000 – $95,000 annually, commensurate with experience.
