Job Summary:
As a Behavioral Support Professional, you will provide direct care, behavioral interventions, and skill-building activities to support clients in achieving their Individual Program Plan (IPP) and Individual Behavior Support Plan (IBSP) goals. Your role is vital in promoting client integration into the community and helping them thrive in a safe and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities:

Behavioral Interventions and Care: Provide direct care and implement behavioral interventions tailored to each client’s IPP and IBSP goals, helping them develop skills and achieve milestones.

Community Integration: Support clients in participating in community outings and activities, fostering social skills and independence.

Monitoring and Reporting: Observe client conditions and behaviors, documenting progress in client records and behavioral data charts. Notify relevant team members, including the Program Director, QBMP, RN, or Mental Health Clinician, of any significant issues.

Medication Management: Administer medications following established policies and procedures. Maintain accurate Medication Administration Records (MAR), conduct medication audits, ensure timely refills, and report errors promptly to the Program Director.

Daily Living Assistance: Assist clients with feeding, dressing, toileting, hygiene, and maintaining clean living spaces, as indicated in their IPP.

Dietary Support: Ensure clients receive appropriate meals aligned with their dietary restrictions and preferences, coordinating with dietitians or healthcare providers as needed.

Client Rights and Safety: Demonstrate awareness of client rights and promptly report any adverse behavior, client abuse, or suspected abuse in accordance with Thrive’s Zero Tolerance policy and legal requirements.

Collaboration: Build and maintain strong relationships with families, Regional Center, DDS representatives, community treatment providers, and other stakeholders to ensure a holistic approach to client care.

Documentation: Accurately complete documentation related to treatment goals, behavioral data, family contacts, medical follow-ups, community outings, and activities.

Transportation: Provide safe and reliable transportation for clients to appointments, community events, and other engagements as part of their IPP and IBSP goals.

Adaptability: Respond effectively to changes in client needs or program goals, adapting interventions and approaches as necessary.

Additional Duties: Perform other duties as assigned by management to support the overall success of the program and its clients.

 

Wage:

Pay: $24-29/hour depending on qualification and EBSH experience.

 

Schedule:

  • AM Shift (6am to 2pm)
    PM Shift (2pm to 10pm)
    NOC Shift (10pm to 6am)
  • 8 hour shifts
  • Overtime as needed
  • Day Options:
  1. Sunday to Thursday
  2. Tuesday to Saturday
  3. Friday to Monday

Qualifications:
  • Must be at least 18 years of age with a high school diploma or GED.
  • Minimum of 6 months of experience providing direct care to individuals with developmental disabilities, focusing on behavioral services.
  • Possess or obtain Registered Behavior Technician (RBT) certification within 8 months of employment, or meet equivalent qualifications of a licensed psychiatric technician or a Qualified Behavior Modification Professional.
  • Completion of California DDS Direct Support Professional Training (Year One and Year Two) within 12 months.
  • Certification in Professional Crisis Management (PCM), Ukeru, First Aid, and CPR (hands-on instruction required) prior to independent work with clients.
  • Fingerprint clearance (Livescan) and physical health screening, including tuberculosis test, required prior to employment.
  • Ability to stand, sit, bend, lift, climb, stoop, kneel, and move intermittently. Must be able to frequently lift/move up to 50 lbs, and occasionally lift more than 50 lbs.
  • Valid driver’s license and proof of current automobile insurance.
