NEIT BEHAVIORAL HEALTH COUNSELOR
EMERGENCY SERVICES
PART TIME – EXEMPT
General Summary: Provide screening and assessment, follow-up to students in crisis and serve as behavioral health liaison/counselor for the New England Institute of Technology (NEIT).
Monday thru Friday 24 hours a week
Essential Responsibilities:
- Provide short term counseling to students on campus and refer students for additional clinical services, if appropriate.
- Provide or coordinate various wellness focused workshops for all students.
- Provide orientation presentations for new resident students and their families.
- Provide on-call emergency clinical services, as needed.
- Complete billing forms, logs, data collection forms and clinical documentation in accordance with Thrive standards.
- Maintain client confidentiality.
- Assist clients in developing and strengthening their support network to accomplish goals and objectives.
- Consult/liaison with staff as needed.
Additional Responsibilities:
- Attend all agency/department required training and meetings within the prescribed period.
- Attend all Safety Training programs and be able to describe his/her responsibilities related to the general safety, department safety, and specific job-related hazards and responsibilities.
- Demonstrate respect and regard for the dignity of all clients, families, visitors and fellow employees to ensure a professional, responsible and courteous environment.

Qualifications:
Education, Experience and Competencies:
- Master’s Degree in the human service field of social work, counseling or nursing.
- Minimum (2) year experience working om the human services field.
- Crisis Intervention experience.
Certifications, Licenses Requirements:
- Independent Licensure preferred (LMHC, LMFT, LICSW)
- Valid driver's license and automobile insurance which meets Rhode Island minimum standards required, or the ability to obtain necessary transportation in order to perform the responsibilities/tasks of the job.
- Qualified Mental Health Professional required.
