What are the responsibilities and job description for the Academic Tutor – Youth Probation Center position at Thrive Academics?
Expected Start Date: Early September
Thrive Academics is hiring dependable, in-person tutors to provide academic instruction for K–12 students at the Victorville Youth Probation Center. Tutors work with students in an individualized, walk-in learning environment where each session is tailored to the student's current academic needs. Because attendance varies throughout the day, tutors should be comfortable adapting quickly and providing support in a variety of core subject areas.
This role is ideal for individuals who are organized, flexible, and passionate about helping students succeed in a structured educational setting.
Schedule
This position is based at the Victorville Youth Probation Center and is anticipated to begin in early September.
- Mondays & Wednesdays: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
- Optional Thursday Shift: 8:30 AM – 11:30 AM
Qualifications
- At least 60 completed college credits
- Ability to assist K–12 students in core academic subjects
- Comfortable working in a structured educational environment
- Reliable transportation
- Spanish/English bilingual skills are preferred but not required
Preferred Qualifications
- Spanish/English bilingual
- Strong mathematics background, including Algebra II or higher
- Dependable, punctual, and committed to supporting student achievement
- Able to build positive relationships with students while maintaining professionalism
Pay: $25.00 per hour
