We are growing & looking for an Analytics Engineer to join our Team. This person will collaborate with partner teams to collect business requirements, use dbt to deliver well-defined, transformed, tested, documented, and code-reviewed data sets, and rolling out new analysis solutions. They’ll be applying software engineering best practices to analytics code through version control, testing, and continuous integration. The primary purpose of this position is to make working with data a delightful experience for data consumers within the company.WHAT YOU WILL DO:Build and enhance beautifully crafted data warehouse models with dbt Implement software engineering best practices through version control, testing, and continuous integrationWork to understand and solve business partners’ data-related challenges Troubleshoot data anomalies with engineering teams Educate and empower your customers to self-serve Build visualizations Craft data requirements for the engineering teams Manage a cloud-based data warehouse in Snowflake WHAT EXPERIENCE YOU WILL NEED:2 years experience writing performant, scalable SQL models on large data sets Experience with dbt and Snowflake, or similarSome experience with BI visualizations - we use Mode Analytics Nice to have: Experience with data storage technologies outside of our regular stack Nice to have: Software engineering background - C#, React, PowerShell, Python OTHER COMPETENCIES YOU SHOULD POSSES:A love for (and experience with) modeling dataThe ability to break large problems into small, testable, deployable solutionsCuriosity: eagerness to learn how ThriftBooks worksCommunication: discussing technical topics with non-technical peopleProven track record of delighting data consumersTRAVEL: This role involves limited travel for collaboration and professional development. LOCATION: Our corporate office is in Tukwila, WA. Hybrid work from Seattle Area is available.BASE SALARY:$80,000 - $115,000 This range reflects the good-faith hiring base salary range for this position.
