Azure Administrator

We are seeking a skilled Azure Administrator to manage, secure, and optimize our Microsoft Azure cloud environment. This full-time role is primarily onsite, with limited remote work flexibility, and will focus on infrastructure automation, cloud security, and operational excellence. You will join a collaborative team of technology professionals and report directly to the Director of IT, working closely with engineering and IT stakeholders to ensure reliable, scalable, and secure cloud services.

What You’ll Do

• Administer, monitor, and maintain Azure infrastructure and services
• Design, deploy, and manage cloud resources using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools (e.g., Bicep, ARM templates, Terraform)
• Implement and enforce Azure security best practices, including identity, access management, and network security
• Manage and enforce governance using Azure Policy
• Monitor system performance, availability, and cost optimization across Azure resources
• Manage backups, disaster recovery, and high-availability solutions
• Troubleshoot and resolve cloud infrastructure, networking, and system issues
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support application deployments and operational needs
• Create and maintain technical documentation and operational runbooks

Travel: This role involves limited travel for collaboration and professional development.

Location: Our corporate office is in Tukwila, WA. Hybrid flexibility with a primarily onsite work environment.

Salary

$90,000-$110,000/yr. This range reflects the good-faith hiring base range for this position. However, individual rates are determined by a variety of factors including, but not limited to: business considerations, local market conditions, internal equity, as well as candidate qualifications such as skills, experience, and education/training.

What You Need (Job Requirements)

• 3 years of hands-on experience administering Microsoft Azure environments
• Strong experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) methodologies and tools
• Solid understanding of Azure security concepts, including:
  • Azure AD / Entra ID
  • Role-Based Access Control (RBAC)
  • Network security groups, firewalls, and private endpoints
• Hands-on experience with Azure Policy for governance and compliance
• Experience with Azure monitoring and logging tools (Azure Monitor, Log Analytics)
• Familiarity with hybrid cloud environments, integrating on-premises and Azure infrastructure
• Strong knowledge of networking concepts, including:
  • Virtual Networks (VNets), subnets, routing
  • VPNs, load balancers, and hybrid connectivity
• Experience administering Hyper-V environments
• Experience in managing Windows Server environments
   

Preferred / Nice-to-Have Skills

• Experience managing on-premises SQL Server environments, including:
  • SQL Server installation, configuration, patching, and upgrades
  • SQL Server Always On Availability Groups design, administration, and troubleshooting
  • Backup and recovery strategies, performance tuning, and high availability
• Experience with Azure Local (Azure Stack HCI / Azure Local)
• Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices
• Scripting experience (PowerShell, Bash, or similar)
• Azure certifications such as AZ-104 or AZ-500

Other Competencies You Should Posses

• Azure Infrastructure Administration: Hands-on experience managing Azure compute, storage, networking, and core platform services in production environments, including high availability and scalability.
• Security, Identity & Governance: Proficiency with Microsoft Entra ID (Azure AD), RBAC, network security controls, Azure Policy, and governance best practices.
• Automation, Monitoring & Reliability: Ability to automate deployments using IaC and scripting (ARM/Bicep/Terraform, PowerShell/CLI) and operate reliable systems using Azure Monitor, backup, and disaster recovery.
• Operations, Cost & Collaboration: Strong troubleshooting skills, experience optimizing Azure costs, and ability to collaborate effectively with engineering, security, and operations teams.
