Threshold Rehabilitation Services, Inc., a human service agency supporting people with disabilities is actively seeking an energetic, team-oriented professional to join our team in the Mental Health Services Department.
The Medical Assistant is responsible for providing medical support to individuals in assigned Mental Health Programs. The Medical Assistant will coordinate, schedule, and accompany individuals to medical services in the community and provide designated team members with information to ensure continuity of services and treatment.
Other responsibilities include:
- Coordinate the ordering and distribution of medications and medical supplies,
- Monitor medical billing, coordinate the organization of the medical support office, supplies, files, and distribute medical reports as required,
- Communicate with medical and health insurance providers and designated team members to coordinate medical status, instructions, procedures and/or insurance coverage.
- Perform vital signs, BMI and girth measurements for supported individuals as needed.
- Act as a positive public relations person in interactions with the community.
- Complete all assigned trainings.
- Carry and respond to a company issued cell phone during working hours.
- Comply with Threshold's confidentiality policy specifically regarding access to individuals' personal health information.
- Perform other duties as assigned by Healthcare Coordinator.
The hours for this position are Monday - Friday 8:00 am - 5:00 pm.
Threshold is closed on major Holidays, so these are great work hours with paid Holidays off starting day one of employment!!

Requirements
- Certified Medical Assistant Certificate or Associates Degree in Medical Assisting.
- Strong organizational skills required.
- Computer knowledge is a must.
- Valid PA Driver's License
- PA Motor Vehicle Record Check
- Use of vehicle while working with valid registration and insurance coverage indicating you are an insured driver
- Pre-employment Drug Screen
- PA Criminal History Clearance
- FBI Clearance (if candidate has not been a resident of PA for the past two consecutive years)
