QC Technical Analyst II

Summary of Job Duties:

The Quality Control Technical Analyst II is responsible for evaluating the quality and compliance with internal specification of ingredients for use in nutritional supplement production and assisting to train new TA I’s in core duties. Additionally, this position is responsible for processing items manufactured out-of-house, participating in multi-departmental investigatory and review committees, and working closely with Quality Assurance and Research & Development to ensure cGMP compliance of ingredients, products, and processes.

Specific Job Duties:

1. Execute all duties and responsibilities performed by a QC Technical Analyst I.
2. Process incoming finished goods such as Legacy items made out-of-house by contract manufacturers.
3. Train newly hired team members, work with managers to implement training programs and provide evaluation input.
4. Troubleshoot challenges in processing new and expired raw materials. Communicate with other departments as necessary to find solutions.
5. Review and provide QC approval signature for internal specification sheet updates.
6. Review process deviation documents and provide peer review signature.
7. Assist QC Supervisor in metrics tracking, analysis, and reporting.
8. Create and route purchase requests for needed team supplies.
9. Write, update, and review Quality Control related SOPs and complete document change request form.
10. Facilitate and take notes during team meetings and ensure that follow-up action items are completed.
11. Participate in multi-departmental investigatory and review committees such as the Material Review Board (MRB), Out-of-Stock/ Stay-in-Stock (OOS/SIS), and the Sourcing Review Board (SRB).
12. Provide leadership to internal sub-teams in short-term projects.
13. Perform all other tasks as assigned by Threshold management.

Minimum Qualifications Required:

1. Associates degree or equivalent education and experience, preferably in a science-related field.
2. 1 year of experience as a QC Technical Analyst l, or equivalent.
3. Good written and verbal communication skills, with great attention to detail.
4. Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel.
5. Good math skills and familiarity with general scientific terminology, particularly in chemistry and biology.
6. Strong computer and technology literacy, and ability to learn various industry-specific software programs.
7. Willingness to maintain full self-accountability, accountability as a team, and to integrate constructive criticism.
8. 20/20 or corrected vision.

Skills and/or Training Desired:

1. 1 year of experience in Quality Control, Quality Assurance, and/or Research & Development.
2. 1 year of experience in a GMP/GDP production environment.
3. Experience with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software such as Microsoft Dynamics NAV.
4. Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Visio, OneDrive, Sharepoint and/or Adobe Acrobat Pro.
5. Ability to research available literature and online resources regarding laboratory test methodology.
6. Experience with FDA compliance regulations, particularly creating an audit trail.
7. Familiarity with Eastern herbal medicine modalities.
8. Experience using powered lifting equipment such as an electric pallet jack, walkie stacker, or forklift.
9. Background in STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Math) work.
