Director of Nursing - RN

We are seeking a passionate and experienced Director of Nursing (DON) to lead our clinical team and uphold the highest standards of patient care. This vital leadership role oversees the daily clinical and administrative operations of the nursing department, ensuring each resident receives exceptional, person-centered care in alignment with their individualized care-plans.

As the DON, you’ll work closely with the Administrator as a clinical partner, guiding the nursing team toward quality outcomes, regulatory compliance, and a culture of excellence.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead and manage nursing operations across all departments, ensuring quality care and regulatory compliance.
• Oversee staffing, scheduling, and resource allocation based on census and acuity.
• Drive recruitment, retention, and staff development initiatives.
• Conduct documentation reviews and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Collaborate with physicians, interdisciplinary teams, and external partners to coordinate care.
• Participate in budget planning and quality assurance performance improvement (QAPI) processes.
• Review prospective resident referrals and ensure clinical capabilities align with care needs.
• Promote resident and family satisfaction, and support smooth transitions of care.
• Assume operational responsibilities in the short-term absence of the Administrator.

Qualifications

• Graduate of an accredited nursing program.
• Valid RN license.
• 3–5 years of successful leadership experience in long-term care or similar settings.
• Strong clinical knowledge and understanding of federal and state regulations.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and organizational skills.
