Job description
Americas is seeking an experienced Electrical/Controls Engineer with strong expertise in PLC programming and industrial automation. The ideal candidate will possess hands-on experience with Siemens STEP 7 and Schneider Electric PLC platforms, along with proficiency in AutoCAD and CMMS software to support maintenance planning, scheduling, and cross-functional team coordination.
This role is a key contributor to plant operations and continuous improvement initiatives, ensuring equipment reliability, operational efficiency, regulatory compliance, and a strong safety culture.
Technical Skills
Hands-on experience with:
- Siemens STEP 7 PLC programming
- Schneider Electric PLC platforms
- Industrial automation and controls systems
- AutoCAD
- CMMS software
Responsibilities:
PLC Programming & Automation
- Develop, modify, troubleshoot, and optimize PLC programs using:
- Siemens STEP 7
- Schneider Electric PLC software
- Support industrial automation systems and control strategies to improve plant performance.
- Diagnose and resolve controls-related issues to minimize downtime.
- Assist with equipment upgrades, commissioning, and system improvements.
Safety & Compliance
- Promote and lead a comprehensive plant safety process focused on injury prevention.
- Ensure compliance with all applicable federal, state, and local environmental and safety regulations.
- Support initiatives that reinforce a culture of safety and accountability throughout the facility.
Plant Leadership & Operations
- Serve as an active member of the plant leadership team.
- Act as a positive communicator and problem solver, driving operational excellence.
- Identify opportunities for process optimization and implement effective solutions.
- Establish and maintain high performance standards within the operation.
Maintenance & Reliability
- Utilize CMMS software for maintenance planning, scheduling, and documentation.
- Coordinate maintenance activities to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.
- Support preventive and predictive maintenance initiatives.
- Participate in TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) and reliability improvement efforts.
Continuous Improvement
- Support pillar-based continuous improvement initiatives.
- Lead and participate in projects focused on efficiency, productivity, and waste reduction.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to achieve plant objectives and performance targets.
Qualifications
Education
- Bachelor's Degree in:
- Electrical Engineering,
- Industrial Maintenance,
- Engineering, or
- A related technical field.
Experience
- Minimum of 3 years of successful experience leading a plant maintenance department in an industrial manufacturing environment, OR
- Minimum of 5 years of supervisory experience within a manufacturing environment.
Salary : $80,000 - $90,000
