Truck Driver/Trainer-Class A

Three Way Logistics, Inc. is an industry leader in material management, logistics, and comprehensive transportation services with proven accuracy, flexibility, and on-time delivery is looking for Class A Driver Trainer for one of their Austin, TX facility.

Position Available: The local driver is responsible for working with several transportation departments within the Austin area to onboard new drivers, train current drivers, create new training materials, and document all trainings. This position requires a Class A license, 2 years’ minimum experience operating a tractor/trailer (53' dry van, High Cube, Flatbed), clean DMV (no major at-fault accidents or speeding in commercial vehicles) and current medical card. Strong computer skills, including a familiarity with Office 360 and Excel are required. Some material handling is necessary. A strong commitment to safety and customer is a must.

Pay: $29.00 to $33.00 per hour DOE

Shift: Monday- Friday, 8am to 5pm. Maybe called upon to work a different shift occasionally.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

· Train on current processes and review processes annually

· Help develop new processes, document and train on new processes

· Responsible for occasional route coverage

· Organize all documented processes, training results and training materials in Share Point

· Work with supervisors and dispatchers to create topics for monthly safety meetings

· Review Samsara safety Alerts and conduct coaching with drivers who have infractions.

· Onboard new drivers, review onboarding training to ensure it is adequate to fully prepare a driver to be safe and compliant

· Work with supervisors to ensure drivers have required PPE, uniforms, van equipment etc to perform daily functions

· Perform periodic road tests with all drivers, document results and organize in Share Point

· Perform weekly tractor cab checks for cleanliness and compliance, document results and organize in Share Point

· Respond to incidents and accidents with supervisors and management, help investigate root causes and assist with corrective actions

· Train new hire drivers on the use of mobile applications

· Ensure that new hire drivers are driving safety and are abiding by all laws, rules and regulation set forth by both the state of Texas, DOT, and FMCSA.

· Train all new hire drivers on safely using all equipment (pallet jack, straps, dry an, high cube, flat bed, etc.)

Skill & Qualifications:

· Valid Class A Driver License with 2 years’ minimum experience operating a tractor/trailer (53' dry van, High Cube, Flatbed)

· Clean DMV (no major at-fault accidents or speeding in commercial vehicles) Excellent interpersonal skills for communication with clients and co-workers.

· Maintain valid Medical Card.

· Ability to pass TSA mandated Security Threat Analysis (STA) and Drug test

· City driving experience in all weather conditions.

· Material handling is required.

· Forklift load/unload experience a strong plus

· Must be able to pass a required Drug and Alcohol test.

Knowledge of Commercial Vehicle Rules and Regulations.

Physical Requirements: Able to lift and maneuver 75 lbs. (tarps). Able to exert enough force to safely and securely tie down all material to trailer with straps and chains as necessary. Must be able to sit for long periods of time in the vehicle.
