Position Summary
Three Way High School is seeking a passionate and student-centered History Teacher (Grades 9–12) who will also serve as a Coach. This position is ideal for an educator who values strong relationships, high expectations, and being part of a close-knit school community. The successful candidate will contribute both in the classroom and through athletics by fostering academic excellence, character development, and school pride.
Primary Teaching Responsibilities

Teach high school History courses (Grades 9–12) aligned to Texas Essential Knowledge and Skills (TEKS)

Design and implement engaging, rigorous, and student-centered lessons

Utilize a variety of instructional strategies to meet diverse learner needs
-
Integrate literacy, critical thinking, and real-world connections into instruction

Monitor student progress through formative and summative assessments
-
Maintain accurate grades, attendance, and documentation
-
Communicate effectively with students, parents, and campus staff
-
Participate in PLCs, campus initiatives, and professional development
Coaching Responsibilities

Serve as a coach in an assigned athletic program (specific sport(s) based on campus need)

Assist in developing student-athletes academically, physically, and socially
-
Promote sportsmanship, teamwork, discipline, and leadership

Plan and supervise practices, competitions, and athletic events
-
Collaborate with the Athletic Director and coaching staff

Support the overall athletic culture and traditions of Three Way ISD
Additional Duties

Support campus activities, events, and traditions

Maintain positive relationships with students, families, and the community

Uphold district policies, UIL regulations, and professional standards

Perform other duties as assigned by campus administration
Qualifications
Required:
-
Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
-
Valid Texas teaching certification in Social Studies/History (7–12 or appropriate grade span) or ability to obtain certification

Willingness and ability to coach assigned sport(s)
Preferred:
-
Coaching certification or coaching experience
-
Experience teaching at the high school level

Ability to teach multiple social studies courses

Strong classroom management and communication skills
