Lead Construction Estimator

Three Sons Home Improvements, LLC is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Lead Construction Estimator to join our team. We are a dynamic, hardworking organization looking for a leader who can add immediate value and mesh company culture.

As the Lead Estimator, you will play a crucial role in accurately assessing costs for projects ranging from single-family homes to large-scale multi-family apartment complexes. You will be responsible for interpreting project plans, performing accurate quantity take-offs, and providing reliable cost estimates that ensure the success and profitability of our projects.

Core Responsibilities

Team Leadership & Project Oversight

• Manage & Mentor: Delegate tasks and provide direction to the estimating team, ensuring all projects meet the "Three Sons Standard" and are submitted on time.
• Continuous Growth: Help push the estimating team to learn new methods and stay updated on industry trends and material fluctuations.
• Standardization: Ensure all bids for roofing, siding, metal fabrication, and gutters are accurate, detailed, and competitive.

Estimation & Cost Analysis

• Detailed Take-offs: Perform quantity take-offs for materials, labor, and equipment using estimating software and historical data.
• Value Engineering: Identify opportunities for cost optimization by exploring alternative materials and construction methods to enhance project profitability.
• Bid Strategy: Prepare comprehensive bid proposals and participate in review meetings to provide insights that improve our competitive edge.

Vendor & Client Relations

• Strategic Partnerships: Establish and maintain relationships with both the companies we work for (GC’s etc. ) and material suppliers we work with to ensure reliable and competitive pricing.
• Collaboration: Work closely with project management to validate costs, analyze risks, and finalize contracts or purchase orders.

Position Requirements

• Experience: Minimum of 5 years in construction estimating, with a strong preference for candidates experienced in siding, roofing, and gutters.
• Education: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent professional experience).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in construction estimating software and tools; background with QuickBooks Desktop is a significant plus.
• Mathematics: Strong math skills, including algebra, geometry, and basic arithmetic for accurate calculations.
• Professionalism: Excellent attention to detail, a "team player" attitude, and the ability to manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment.

Work Environment & Compensation

• Primary Location: This position is primarily office-based to ensure seamless collaboration with the estimating and project management teams.
• Flexibility: There is the possibility for occasional remote work once the candidate is fully integrated into our systems.
• Compensation & Benefits: Three Sons offers a competitive package commensurate with experience. This position includes a six figure salary, paid vacation, and optional IRA and Health Insurance. Specific salary ranges and benefit options will be discussed in detail during the interview process.

Pay: $100,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
