Seeking compassionate and hardworking dental and/or oral surgery assistant who is looking for work.
Dental Oral Surgery Assistants, full time and part time, needed for Canonsburg, PA oral and maxillofacial surgery practice. Great working environment, friendly and professional staff, great salary, 401K retirement benefits, bonuses and paid holidays.

Dental experience preferred, and x-ray certification a plus but not required. Starting rate shown represents no experience; otherwise, pay will be commensurate with experience. Ideal candidates will be eager to be trained in the role and have a personal and professional manner with patients, doctor and staff.
Monday to Thursday full days, half days on Friday*
Overtime paid at time and a half.
Responsibilities:
- Communicate with patients.
- Perform administrative work.
- Gather and document patient's information.
- Demonstrate proper infection control measures.
- Work as part of a team.
- Assist the surgeon with extractions, implants and IV sedations
- Answer patient questions and reassure nervous patients
- Monitor patients as they wake up
- Assist patients to the vehicle after surgery
- Give patients pre-op and post-op instructions
- Sanitize and clean between patients
- Sterilize tools
- Update and maintain client’s dental records
- Take and process X-rays (if certified)
- Schedule patient appointments
- Take billing and insurance details from patients
Qualifications:
- Previous experience as a Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist preferred
- Familiarity with DSN or other electronic medical record systems preferred
- Knowledge of surgical instruments, equipment, and procedures
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow instructions accurately
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment
- Positive attitude and professional demeanor and caring for patients
- X-Ray Certification preferred
- CPR Certification preferred
