What are the responsibilities and job description for the Registered Nurse (RN) Birth Assistant for Home Birth position at Three Rivers Midwifery Service?
If you are a registered nurse (RN) who is passionate about physiological birth, here is a great opportunity for you! Three Rivers Midwifery Service, LLC, a CNM-owned and operated home birth practice in the Frederick MD area, is looking for RN assistants for births. We offer a family-centered approach with a focus on individualized care, education, client autonomy, and safety in the community birth setting. Birth assistants help with set-up, take down, clean up, labor support, and assisting the midwife with procedures and management of complications and emergencies in the home birth setting. This could include postpartum hemorrhage, neonatal resuscitation, shoulder dystocia, fetal distress, and any other things that may arise. All birth assistants should be certified in NRP and BLS CPR. This is a flexible position that can be adjusted to fit the needs of the right candidate. It involves a lot of call time, but we can use a rotation of birth assistants so that schedules can be tailored around other obligations if needed.
