We are seeking an entry level Pipefitter Apprentice, or those interested in learning the trade, to become an integral part of our Mechanical Division within Wyandotte, Michigan.
Qualifications:
- At least 18 years of age
- Completion of Pre-Employment Background Check, Drug Screen and Physical, Strength Assessment, and Safety Training for Construction Trade
- Minimal travel required within Michigan .
Education and/or Experience:
- High School Degree or Equivalent
- Previous trades training is a plus but not required.
Physical Demands:
- Prolonged standing, climbing, bending, and kneeling
- Crouch, crawl, stoop rarely
- The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision; distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus
- Use of sharp tools and power equipment in working conditions where there is possibility for slip and fall
- Subject to variable weather conditions inside and outside
- Manual Dexterity
- Good hand-eye coordination
- Good sense of balance
Work Environment:
- While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to fumes or airborne particles and vibration
- The employee is occasionally exposed to a variety of weather conditions
- Must use safety equipment (PPE) where warranted. The noise level in the work environment is usually loud
