Summary:

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Title I Teacher to join our team. This role supports high-quality instruction to students in language arts through targeted small group instruction and one-on-one. Assists in the development, implementation, and evaluation of school-based Title I instructional programs and materials, fostering a love of learning and promoting the academic, social, and emotional growth of all students.

Education and Experience:

  • Current Michigan Teacher Certification required.
  • Master’s in Reading preferred.
  • Minimum of five years of successful classroom teaching experience required.
  • Experience with building leadership (SI or MTSS) required.
  • Experience with School Improvement processes and Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) preferred.
  • Proficient in the analysis of data.
  • Proficient in the use of technology to support instruction.
  • Strong leadership, collaboration, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Highly motivated, self-directed, and committed to student success and professional growth.

  • The ability to collaboratively create and execute clear, logical instructional plans that produce strong results in student learning.
  • The capacity to rigorously create and sustain a system of ongoing data collection and analysis to inform a continuously responsive and adaptive system of tiered instruction attentive to students’ specific academic needs.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Supports coordination of school-based Title I programs, including staff scheduling, student selection, and progress monitoring.
  • Develop and participate in professional learning community (PLC) meetings, including but not limited to agendas, training, and facilitation.
  • Serves as a resource person for the staff in the selection of Title I staff and students, instructional materials, data tools, and professional development.
  • Meets regularly with the district Instructional Coaches and Building Principal to plan, evaluate, and discuss the needs of the Title I program, including students, staff, and families.
  • Teach, model, and facilitate research-based best practice strategies with teachers.
  • Support teachers in collecting and analyzing data results.
  • Train teachers on how to accurately assess student progress and identify the right interventions and supports.
  • Identify and recommend instructional materials and assessments aligned with Common Core State Standards.
  • Collaborate with teachers to identify student instructional needs, set learning goals and targets, and develop best practices for continuous academic growth.
  • Provide professional development on best practice strategies.
  • Collaborate with building principals to support school improvement plans and professional development aimed at increasing student performance.
  • Regularly meet with PLC teams, School Improvement Teams, and the District MTSS team.
  • Develop, support, and implement Tier 2 interventions, including leading targeted small groups for students identified below needing intensive, focused support beyond classroom-level interventions.
  • Perform any additional duties as assigned.
  • Maintain a consistent and reliable on-site work schedule.

Qualification Requirements: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Compare, analyze, and synthesize information relevant to job tasks. Communicate both orally and in writing effectively. Coordinate, instruct, compute, evaluate, and negotiate as needed. Use interpersonal skills to interact with colleagues, students, and stakeholders.

Physical Demands: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to: Stand, walk, sit, use hands to finger, handle, or feel, and reach with hands and arms. Climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl as needed for job tasks. Talk, hear (in a quiet or noisy environment), taste, and smell as necessary for communication and safety. Occasionally lift and/or move up to 40 pounds. Have specific vision abilities including close vision, distance vision, and the ability to adjust/focus.

Work Environment: Traditional classroom environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee regularly meets deadlines amidst a fast-paced environment with severe time constraints.

FLSA Status: This is an Exempt FLSA position. Exempt employees are not eligible for overtime pay under the Fair Labor Standards Act.

Additional Information:

  • Compensation and Benefits: Competitive salary and benefits package.
  • Schedule: 180 days per year, generally following the TRCS Academic Calendar. Includes non-working days during winter, spring, and summer breaks, as well as designated holidays.
