What are the responsibilities and job description for the Professional Tutor position at Three Rivers College?
The full-time Professional Tutor will provide excellent customer service while performing a wide variety of duties necessary for the daily operation of the center. These duties include, but are not limited to, overseeing part-time tutors, tracking data, assisting students in the subject of math or English, maintaining basic computer needs, and center cleanliness.
The primary function of a Professional Tutor is to provide academic support to the TRC community. Providing academic support involves helping students develop the knowledge, skills, and confidence needed to become independent learners. Tutors must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to work and communicate effectively with students of all skill levels. The Professional Tutor is also responsible for achieving and/or maintaining program accreditation and CRLA Tutoring Center Certification and other appropriate accrediting bodies.
Associate degree with a strong Math, English, Reading or closely related field required; bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of two years of teaching experience at the collegiate level is preferred. Knowledge of the principles of pedagogy, assessment, and innovative student learning success strategies required.
Salary range is $16.00 - $18.00 per hour. Excellent fringe benefit package including, but not limited to health, dental, vision, and life insurance; sick and vacation leave; and the Missouri Public School & Education Employee Retirement System. Generous holiday schedule.
