Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and passionate Line Cook to join our culinary team in our brand new psychiatric hospital. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food preparation and cooking, with experience in both fine dining and catering environments. As a Line Cook, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality meals to our patients while maintaining the highest standards of food safety and cleanliness.

Responsibilities

• Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and standards
• Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner to meet service demands
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the kitchen and workstations
• Follow proper food handling and safety procedures at all times
• Assist in menu planning and development with the culinary team
• Collaborate with other kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during service
• Monitor inventory levels and assist with ordering supplies as needed
• Participate in training new kitchen staff on food preparation techniques and safety practices

Skills

• Proven experience in the food industry, particularly in restaurant or catering settings
• Strong culinary skills, including knife skills and meal preparation techniques
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and best practices for handling food
• Experience with menu planning and fine dining service is highly desirable
• Ability to work efficiently under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Excellent teamwork skills with a positive attitude towards collaboration
• Strong attention to detail, ensuring high-quality presentation of dishes
• Previous experience as a dietary aide or within a dietary department is a plus
• This job includes every other weekend.
